Timeline of Political Events 1890 - 1914

This work is comprised of two maps and a timeline of international political events from 1890 through 1914. The timeline is meant to convey a sense of the political atmosphere of the pre-1914 world and shed some light on what events fueled the conflict to come. The first map is a simple rendering of which countries were allied, to get a sense of the countries who had stake in World War One. The final map is an interactive battlefield map, chronologically displaying battles where new technology was utilized or changed the course of the battle. New military technology dominated battlefields in World War One, and by analyzing their implementation we can ascertain technology's impact on the war.
