People on the Bluff

On the Phone: this photograph has a lot going on, but the audience's eye is drawn to the space between the subject's eye and his phone. This is a result of the shallower depth of field that focuses on the subject rather than the tree or city in the background.

Off the Hood: this photograph has a much wider depth of field. The subject is in focus and the ground is also very much in focus. There is still depth, however, as the city is blurred.
